Bachelor's earnings by school
The law asks one question. Does a degree out-earn a high school diploma?
The federal Do-No-Harm rule sets one test. An undergrad program passes if its graduates' median earnings beat a benchmark. The benchmark is the state median for employed high-school graduates ages 25–34. This page is a preview. It uses current College Scorecard data, not the 2027 release. Observed numbers come straight from federal records. Modeled numbers are our estimates and are always labeled. How the rule works →
Read carefully: our grades are not the federal test
The letter grades below are our own ranking of schools against each other. They are not the federal pass/fail test. That test compares earnings to a fixed cutoff. They score graduate earnings, not teaching quality. Schools that admit stronger students look better even if they add nothing. And "worth the bill" means earnings minus what you borrow — this preview shows earnings only; debt and cost arrive with the 2027 data.
What the adjustment means
Raw pay flatters selective schools in rich states and lucrative fields. The adjusted figures ask a fairer question: how much more or less do a school's graduates earn than similar graduates — same test scores, same state, same kind of field? Schools that beat that expectation earn a stronger Adjusted Grade. The ranking below blends raw and adjusted results. See the FAQ.
Compare schools — 854 graded schools
A broad comparison, not a verdict. Schools are ordered by a blend of raw and adjusted rankings. The data covers 2068 schools that grant bachelor's degrees. 854 have enough observed data to grade. Pass Rate is the federal test in one number. It is the share of a school's programs that pass. A program passes when its observed 4-year median earnings beat the state's high-school benchmark. The benchmark covers employed graduates ages 25–34. It uses a single year of data. The program count behind each Pass Rate is shown beneath it. How grades work.

Compare Programs
Pick a field of study to see which schools' graduates earn the most in it. Schools are ranked by the program's observed 4-year median earnings — only programs with published medians are shown and ranked. Each row carries a bar scaled to the top school, so the spread reads at a glance. Click any row to expand an inline drill-down with the program's full observed data: the number of graduates counted, medians for Pell Grant and non-Pell students, the observed Census earnings spread, and median debt.

School Scorecard
Pick a school to see every bachelor's program. You'll see observed earnings, percentile, adjusted excess, and distribution. Each program is also checked against its state's high-school earnings benchmark. That is the bar the federal rule sets.
Grades explained in the FAQ below. "—" means the value wasn't published. Usually the group was too small. It can also mean the value was modeled and hidden. Only observed values are shown and scored.

Questions & answers
What do these metrics mean?
Adjusted Grade: graduate earnings with the playing field leveled. School location, test scores, and major are factored in.
Raw Grade: graduate earnings compared within each field. No adjustment for test scores or location. Every observed program counts equally, big or small.
No Data: the Adjusted Grade needs SAT scores plus 5+ programs with observed data. The Raw Grade needs 5+ programs with observed 4-year earnings. Otherwise the grade shows No Data.
Mean Adjusted Excess: a school's average of each program's earnings above or below expectation. It is a simple average, so a small program counts as much as a large one.
Mean Raw Income: a school's average of each program's median 4-year earnings. Not weighted by program size.
Pass Rate: the share of a school's programs with observed 4-year earnings at or above the state's high-school benchmark. The benchmark is the state median for employed high-school graduates ages 25–34. Each program gets a simple pass or fail from one year of data. Modeled values never count. Only programs with published medians count. Programs too small to publish are invisible. So 100% means 100% of published programs.
1yr / 4yr / 5yr earnings: median graduate earnings 1, 4, and 5 years after finishing. From tax records.
Percentile: where a program's 4-year earnings rank among all bachelor's programs in the data. Observed values are used. Modeled values fill in where the real number wasn't published.
Adj. excess: how far a program's 4-year earnings land above (+) or below (−) expectation.
P25 / Median / P75: the 25th percentile, middle, and 75th percentile of a program's modeled earnings spread. The spread is estimated from Census earnings records. Those records can cover a different time period than the 4-year median. So treat the shape as an illustration, not a measurement.
Why don't the dollar averages track the grades exactly?
The dollar columns and the grades measure different things. Mean Raw Income and Mean Adjusted Excess are straight dollar averages across a school's programs. The grades work differently. Each program is scored against similar programs in its own field. Those scores are averaged, and the result becomes a letter. So a school full of engineers can show huge dollar averages but earn a middling grade against other high-earning fields. Meanwhile, a school with modest dollars can earn top grades by beating its lower-earning peers. Letter grouping blurs the rest: many different scores share one A+. Schools are ordered by a blend of the two rankings. A school that shines only after adjustment sits lower than its Adjusted Grade alone would suggest.
How do I find the programs for each school?
Click the School Scorecard tab at the top of this page. Then choose a school from the dropdown. You'll see every bachelor's program with its 1yr, 4yr and 5yr earnings, percentile, adjusted excess, and distribution.
How do I compare the same program across schools?
Click the Compare Programs tab at the top of this page and choose a field of study from the dropdown. You'll see a sortable table of every school with a published median for the program, ranked by 4-year median earnings, with bars showing the spread at a glance. Click any row to expand it. You'll see the school's location, observed 1yr/4yr/5yr medians with sample sizes, and medians for Pell Grant and non-Pell students. It also shows the observed Census earnings spread (where covered) and median debt. Only observed values are shown.
Where does this data come from?
Program earnings come from the federal College Scorecard (June 2026). They cover only students who received federal financial aid. The earnings come from IRS tax records. They combine two graduating classes. Adjusted to 2025 dollars. The high-school benchmark is the federal FAFSA Lower Earnings Indicator (December 2025). It is the state median for employed high-school graduates ages 25–34. It covers graduates whose schooling ended at a diploma or GED. It comes from the Census Bureau's 2019–2020 American Community Survey. Figures are in June 2025 dollars.
What are the limits of this preview?
Don't choose a school on a letter grade alone. Medians conceal spread: two programs with the same median can have very different outcomes. Small programs are volatile year to year. These are past graduates (classes of 2014–16), not a prediction of your outcome. Some displayed spreads are estimated from published percentiles rather than measured (shown dashed and labeled); missing values appear as "—". Modeled values are never used in grades. And this page shows earnings only — the debt and cost half of "worth the bill" arrives with the 2027 federal data.
